Clarence J. Venne, Inc.

In July 2001, Prospect Partners and management formed GameMark Products, Inc. to acquire the assets of Clarence J. Venne, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Clarence J. Venne is the leading manufacturer of bingo markers, as well as ink, paint and adhesive products for use in hobby and craft, school, and office applications.

Prospect Partners acquired Clarence J. Venne from owners who wanted to retire after nearly forty years in the business. Prospect worked closely with management to complete a transaction that met the seller’s needs while providing management the opportunity to share in the future growth of the company. Prospect Partners has also completed similar transactions within a family structure, enabling ownership to transfer to the next generation of family members and/or management.

Family businesses are much more than profit and loss centers to their owners—oftentimes, they’re an integral part of a family’s history and prospective future. As with other transactions of this nature, Prospect had the flexibility and patience to meet the needs of the Venne family today while providing opportunities for the next generation to build upon the founders’ success.
