Optronics Products, Inc.

In November 2000, Prospect Partners formed Optronics Products, Inc. to acquire the assets of Optronics, Inc. of Muskogee, Oklahoma from a public company. Optronics markets a broad line of specialty lighting accessories to automotive, marine and sporting goods retailers.

In 1998, Optronics was sold by its founders to a public company. With no clear direction or integration strategy for this new phase of its corporate life, Optronics languished within the public company’s domain, suffering from lack of vision and leadership. As such, the public company decided to divest Optronics, realizing that the company did not fit with its own core strategy. At this time, Prospect Partners recognized that Optronics’ products and brands had leading marketplace potential. In the throes of Optronics being divested, Prospect Partners worked quickly to close the transaction and to recruit new senior managers into the company. Through the acquisition, Optronics was able to return to its original focus on products, packaging and placement, all of which served to drive strong growth for the business.

Recognizing the timely opportunity with Optronics, Prospect Partners assembled the missing pieces of a solid management team. Together, we all worked closely and efficiently in developing a strategy for success in the current market.
